About Us
Core Director
The core director, Dr. Louis Kunkel, has been a major user of this core since its inception. Dr. Kunkel’s supervisory functions include decisions concerning the feasibility of proposed experiments and discussion of the most appropriate experimental approach both with the manager as well as investigators. He oversees the facility manager, discusses schedules and issues regarding the equipment and has extensive experience in the methods and reagents used in the facility.
Internal Advisory Committee
The Internal Advisory Committee consists of Dr. Kunkel, Dr. Emanuela Gussoni, Dr. Laurie Jackson-Grusby, Dr. David Breault and Dr. Peter Hauschka. The committee meets once a year to formally advise the core director and manager/operator. They are also available for ad hoc meetings on short notice.
Facility Manager/Operator, Dick Bennett
Mr. Bennett is dedicated on a full-time basis to the operation and maintenance of the facility’s equipment. He is also responsible for scheduling the use of the equipment, data presentation and distribution, and makes recommendations regarding cell based experiments, equipment updates and maintenance.
