Histology Survey

Monday, September 27th, 2010

In preparing the IDDRC grant renewal, we would like to take the opportunity to plan the future of the Histology core and identify new pieces of equipment we need to acquire/replace and define new techniques/services you would like us to provide. Thus we would appreciate your feedback regarding the services and equipment that the Histology Core provides.  Please fill out the survey below and press submit to send your anonymous response.

The purpose of this core is to help IDDRC investigators perform histology-based studies in an effective and cost-effective manner. Your input is essential to keep the core a facility that enhances the research of IDDR investigators.

Attached please find also a description of the Core equipment, services and fees.

Thanks for your input.
Sincerely,

Gabriel Corfas, Ph.D.

Please, respond to these questions:

  • Has your lab used the Core in the last 5 years?
  • Do you see your lab using the core in the next 3 years?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, please respond to the next ones.

EQUIPMENT:

1. Has your lab used Core equipment in the past (see list below)?

2. Which equipment have you used, and how often have you use it?

3. Which Core equipment do you foresee your lab using in the next 3 years and how frequently do you envision using each piece of equipment?

4. Which new types of equipment would you like the Core to provide?

Current equipment in the Core includes:

  • Downdraft table for small animal perfusion
  • Automatic staining machine (Leica Autostainer XL)
  • General histology equipment: 3 water baths for paraffin sections, 2 slide warmers, 2 paraffin ovens, 2 vacuum ovens, 2 fume hoods
